You know what’s funny? I’ve gotten sucked into this debate, but I’m mostly with you. It doesn’t bother me that much, and I think the “marketplace of ideas” — of which comedians are very much a part — has it decently handled. Not perfectly, of course, but it’s not the catastrophe some make it out to be either. I wrote about this here:

On the “internal war for influence” point, I think that’s mostly right too. But given that it’s an internal war for influence over institutions that influence the public, I do think it matters more than, say, a war for influence over Coca Cola.
