With the possible exception of “even Turkey may feel amenable to a Kurdish homeland,” I agree. Turkey has accepted Iraqi Kurdistan because it’s a semi-autonomous region and not a country, and because the United States made it a fact-on-the-ground.

Any Kurdish homeland that emerges from the Syrian civil war would have to be similarly restricted and guaranteed, or Turkey might attack.

It’s a delicate balance either way, but probably better than the alternatives.
