That’s an interesting point, thanks, and sounds plausible to me.
It’s difficult to know how much of the decision to fire O’Reilly came from wanting to win back fleeing advertisers, and how much came from the desire to win over U.K. regulators. Both likely played a role.
Either way, O’Reilly’s employer got rid of him because he was hurting the bottom line, not because of anything to do with morality.
