That’s a good case to learn from. When the United States announced it was going to renege on its commitments under the Agreed Framework, North Korea scrambled for a bomb.

But it’s not perfectly analogous. The Agreed Framework was bilateral, while the Iran deal is multilateral. And there was evidence North Korea wasn’t fully living up to its commitments, while there isn’t any evidence that Iran is failing to do so.
