One thing you left out: Jackson gave Melo the full no-trade clause. No other team could offer that to him, and no other team could offer as much money or guaranteed years. But Phil decided to do it anyway. Now he’s trying to mindgame his way out of it.

He’s seemed more interested in proving the triangle can win in today’s NBA than developing a winner around the talent he has. As a lifelong Knicks fan, I will not be sorry to see him go. This has been even worse than Isiah Thomas’ tenure, which is really saying something.
