You’re saying that only two possible options for social order exist, and that they’ve already been written as a broken system of fascist capitalism or a broken system of communist dictatorship?
No. I’m saying the most likely beneficiary in the global power system of weakening the United States and liberal democracy in general are authoritarian countries, namely China and Russia.
You brought up the Roman Empire, which is a great example of my argument that it’s wrong to assume knocking down one system will lead to a better one rising in its place. The downfall of Rome didn’t lead to a flowering of a superior system in the former empire, but a prolonged period nicknamed “the Dark Ages.” It took centuries for a better system, with comparatively more freedom and prosperity, to arise.
The sort of changes you advocate are much more likely to come about through fighting for change within liberal democracies, rather than helping authoritarian states gain power internationally at the expense of democracies.
