I don’t go as far as you in the assessment of those voters, but I agree that it would be poor strategy for Democrats to pursue them. Americans who voted Trump and still support him, and prioritize cultural motivations over economic policy outcomes, are not persuadable.

And that’s fine. They’re entitled to their opinion. But it means it would be smarter for Democrats to focus on turning out all the Obama 2012 voters who stayed home in 2014 and 2016.
