Good point on Trump disappointing his most hardcore supporters by encouraging them, then offering half-assed "they're making me say this" criticism, followed by more nonspecific praise.

That pleased them after Charlottesville because they thought it was winking support from someone who was setting things up for the future. But that future is now, and he's still the guy who does praise-criticism-praise winks, not the revolutionary leader they assumed was putting plans in place and would act on them when history called.
