A lot of the best comedy comes from interaction and spur-of-the-moment reactions to the unexpected. Maybe Carlin did it on his own — did he? I’m not sure — but most others have many people to thank.

Whether writers intend it or not, a lot of comedy ends up being comedier when prompted by interaction.
